  • 1/2 tsp Kitch Cook turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kitch Cook red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

For the Masala

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Kitch Cook coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Kitch Cook garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Kitch Cook turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kitch Cook red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Prawns

  • In a bowl, mix the prawns with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Set aside to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Masala

  • Heat oil in a large pan. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  • Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil starts to separate.
  • Add the coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until the spices are well blended.

Cook the Prawns

  • Add the marinated prawns to the masala. Cook on medium heat until the prawns are just done, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to overcook the prawns as they can become tough.
  • Continue to cook until the sauce thickens and coats the prawns well. Season with salt to taste.

Finish and Serve

  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  • Perfect with rice or roti for a delicious meal.
